Patag: Nature at its best

Another hidden paradise that Negros Occidental can proud of would be Brgy. Patag. It is unique from the other mountain resorts. Why? Because you only need to walk or trek 15 minutes then you'll find yourself in the heart of a virgin forest.

Its been years since I last set foot in Patag so when my cousin invited me to go with them, I didnt have any second thought. I said yes.
Brgy. Patag is located east of Silay City. It is a 15 minute drive from Bacolod to Silay proper and almost one hour away from the city proper to Brgy. Patag. The trip going there was bumpy but I dont mind at all because I was enjoying the scenery on the road.
The first thing you'll noticed upon arriving is the old abandoned hospital which holds a lot of ghost story. An apt place for those who revels supernatural spookiness.
Patag boasts its seven breathtaking waterfalls. A fifteen minute trail going north will take you to the first waterfall. Dumalabdab falls looks like an upright spoon. Going further,  another 15 minutes walk will take you to Pulang Tubig (red water) Falls. It is called "pulang tubig" because of the orange and reddish rock that the water from the falls fall into.Taking a dip in the water was irressistible. I was not able to see the remaining five because of lack of time. Like going to Tinagong Dagat is 3 to 4 hours long long long trek but I will surely come back and test my endurance.
If you want to stay for a night or two, Ladlad Resort has some nice overnight cottages for a very affordable price. They also have day time cottages or picnic huts and a freshwater swimming pool. Or if you're more of an adventure type, you can spend a night in one of the rooms at the old hospital or put up a tent on its ground.

Ladlad Resort Ammenities:
     Daytime cottage      -      Php 100.00
     Overnight Room     -        Php  500.00
     Family Room         -       Php  1000.00
     Entrance/Swimming pool  -  Php 20.00
